    DESCRIPTION:

Join us for a 3-hour immersive workshop exploring the intersection of sobriety, yoga philosophy, and conscious community. Whether you’re sober, sober-curious, or simply rethinking your relationship to substances, this gathering offers a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to inquire within.

We’ll explore how the 8-limbed path of yoga—a framework rooted in self-awareness, discipline, and spiritual growth—can support those navigating life without numbing or avoidance. This is not a 12-step program or medical advice, but an invitation to reflect on patterns that may no longer serve us.

    What to expect:

    – Moderate-level asana (movement) and breathwork

    – Guided meditation

    – Talk and group discussion on yoga philosophy and sobriety

    – Optional sharing and reflective journaling

Sharing is always optional. You are welcome just as you are. If you need to step out early, the door is open and your decision will be fully supported.

Please arrive sober. This space is open to anyone interested in the conversation around sobriety, whether or not you identify as being in recovery—but we ask that all participants attend substance-free.

    What to bring:

    – A yoga mat (limited extras available)

    – A journal and pen

    – Water and anything else you need to feel comfortable

    About Shawna:

Shawna Marie has been practicing yoga and sobriety since 2012. She began studying yoga and meditation as a teenager in 2008, seeking peace in the midst of inner and outer chaos. In 2017, she completed her first 200-hour teacher training and began teaching in community spaces. A year later, she traveled to northern India to deepen her studies in yoga and Buddhism, and later completed her 500-hour certification.

Shawna now leads classes and workshops throughout California’s Central Coast, offering everything from power vinyasa to gentle flow, always infused with Ayurveda, trauma-informed language, and a deep reverence for self-inquiry. Her teaching is rooted in connection—to self, community, and the natural world. Outside the studio, Shawna works in regenerative organic agriculture, helping fundraise for climate-resilient food systems.
