DESCRIPTION:
We welcome you to gather in community with sound healers and yoga teachers, Aubrey Padma and Kobun Truelove, for a beautiful evening as we embark on a sonic journey into the deep sea. Journey with the Whales Sound Bath Meditation & Restorative Yoga experience is like no other!
You will be gently guided into deeply restorative yoga poses for several minutes each, inviting you to drop into a nurturing nest of support, held by Mama Earth as the sacred songs of whales beneath the surface of the Monterey Bay wash over and through you. You will also be enveloped with the healing sounds and vibrations of Nepalese singing bowls, drums, didgeridoo, and other beautiful instruments, soothing your nervous system while we raise the vibration to healing frequencies, in a time where so much healing is needed on planet earth.
Sound vibration works on a cellular level to bring harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. Science describes for us how through a process called entrainment, when the frequency of one object synchronizes with the frequency of another, external sound frequencies have the power to alter inner states of consciousness by shifting from an alert state to alpha and theta brain waves associated with relaxation and meditation. Benefits of sound are especially potent when combined with restorative yoga poses which allow space and support for the body to soften, let go, and be held, releasing tension throughout layers of your being. Further healing benefits may include promoting emotional balance, nervous system downregulation, reduced stress response and anxiety symptoms, decreased pain and inflammation, improved sleep quality, a sense of inner peace, calm clarity of mind, insight, renewed wellbeing and spiritual connection.
No yoga or meditation experience necessary, you will be guided throughout all aspects of the evening.
Please bring:
Your beautiful self and all that is present within. An open mind and an open heart for your journey. Water bottle and yoga mat. We do have props in the studio, though you are welcome to bring any cozy personal items such as blankets or eye masks that help you feel supported. Please wear loose comfortable yoga type clothes and bring layers as the body temperature decreases during deep relaxation.
*While sound healing is generally relaxing, safe, and supportive, it is not advised for anyone with sound induced epilepsy. You know your body best, so you are encouraged to always practice self responsibility and refer to your health care provider with any medical questions you may have before participating, especially those in the first trimester of pregnancy.
